My favorite summer activity is heading over to beach, small one and just relax by shore. really disconnect.

  11. Here in Piedmont North Carolina it can be hot in mid-summer. My favorite activity is to harvest and prepare for shipment the lavender which I grow. It is rewarding work because of the fragrance which envelopes the work areas. I am also enjoying working to restore my carnivore bed which an untrained worker nuked when I was not paying attention. It broke my heart because I had such an interesting carnivore bed with many varieties. Oh well, that is life and I am having fun selecting a new set of carnivores again.

    • Maria says:

Sorry to hear about the bed, Charlie! I’m sure you’ll be able to restore its splendor. I bet working with the lavender smells great!

  12. David Laughlin says:

My favorite summer activity is gardening during these absolutely gorgeous days. I don’t mind the heat at all – I roll my wheelchair outside (which I also lovingly refer to as “my wide metal ass,” lol), look up at the clouds, feel the sun on my skin, breathe a few deep breaths, get Beethoven’s 9th playing on my phone, and get my ass to work. I’ve been weeding garden beds, amending soil, tending to all of my houseplants/orchids/carnivorous plants on the sundeck, and loving every nanosecond of it. It’s a great time to be alive in the greatest country to be alive in. Life is a precious thing that we only get a tiny speck of on a tiny speck of a planet, the task is to make it count.

  13. Alison Kocek says:

  15. Teye says:

Favorite summer activity; getting f***ing water everyday to water my plants. Have to walk 200 meters back and forth with 4 bottles of water (big bottles). Joking! I love to see my plants devellop the most beautiful traps and catch insect. Just seeing the pitchers or leafes full of bugs makes me tinkeling (or whatever the happiness feeling feels like) inside.

  16. Missy says:

My favorite summer activity is probably skating down the boardwalk in my skates… that or getting the shit kicked out of me at roller derby scrimmage. And long Pokemon Go walks.

One of my favorite activities is just watching my plants. It’s so cool watching a fly slip into a pitcher or a Flytrap close trapping it’s “victim”.

    Wow that’s a little dark.lol

  24. Brandon N. says:

Huza! another giveaway! Let’s see… so far I think my favorite summer activity has come to be travelling. I live in the very northern edge of the Chihuahuan Desert where the wind blows from January 1st to December 31st, the winters are either kinda chilly or absolutely freezing, and every summer just gets hotter x.x
Here we say “summer is coming” lol.
But seriously, it’s nice to get out of this crazy heat. Today alone it’s supposed to hit 107°F, with something like 27% humidity.

  25. Alan says:

Carnivorous plants bring joy to my life. I want to spend my whole summer caring for them… and all the summers that will come.

  34. Robert says:

    How exciting!

Truly — favorite summer activity has been playing with the kids in the backyard and gardening.

  35. Derek says:

  36. Danielle says:

I love to take care of my plants outside during the summer 🙂 plus the kitten on that lives in my deck is a bonus lol

  37. My favorite activity during the Summer is to tend to my huge “Jungle” of plants: countless houseplants that have grown into trees!, my great collection of orchids (they need a lot of separate types of needs to bring them into BEAUTIFUL BLOOM), and my growing collection of CARNIVOROUS PLANTS, they require special tasks to do their absolute BEST, and……the weirder the better!!! I love the very rare, very unusual, and challenging plants the best…..but love them all.
This is a WONDERFUL Contest/giveaway, thank you so very much!

  38. Nat says:

Beautiful bbs! My favorite summer activity is walking in the woods and finding mushrooms and cool plants to gawk at and try to id! And that’s not a rough thing to do here on the east coast! Gorgeous nature here and I heard there’s a native carnivorous plant to the east coast too?

    • Maria says:

Sounds awesome, Nat! There are several carnivorous plants native to the east coast! Sarracenia purpurea can be found all the way up to Canada, Venus flytraps are native to North Carolina, and many more Sarracenia can be found Florida and other Southeastern states.

  39. Kaz Strand says:

Awesome selection! I’m pretty new to carnivorous plants, but would love expanding my collection and knowledge~

  40. Paige says:
